Smart Energy Water today announced joining of Milan Rao as President. Milan is a technology-oriented business leader, who has been parachuted into several diverse industries and companies at different stages of growth. He is known for his ability to wrap his arms around new companies, quickly figure out the leverage points, and chart an accelerated growth plan.
At Smart Energy Water, Milan will play a key role in building digital platforms that deliver the best customer and workforce experiences for utilities. He will steer the company through its course of hypergrowth and will bring the organization closer to achieving its mission to engage, empower, educate billions of people to save energy and water through category-leading innovative cloud platforms.
A known industry name, Milan is a distinguished leader and joins from most recently as President of global technology firm Wipro, where he led a multi-billion dollar & 25,000+ people strong portfolio as Global head of two of Wipro’s Strategic business units. In addition, he led the company’s core enabling functions - CTO office, Innovation, IP & Platforms, Wipro HOLMES, Global Marketing and Advisory Relations.
Prior to that, he was CEO of GE Healthcare’s business in India & emerging markets and before that, he was responsible for scaling the B2B business of Telecom major Airtel as CEO. His other achievements have been scaling private wealth management business of Morgan Stanley and spearheading major offerings at Citibank Consumer bank in India.
Milan has served on several boards and industry bodies, including, Board member & Managing Director of Wipro GE Healthcare, Board member of GE-BEL, Chairman of FICCI Med Tech Forum, Governing board of NATHEALTH, among others. He was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of Sterlite Technologies and serves as an Advisor for a PE major.
Milan is passionate about mentoring and coaching individuals and volunteers in healthcare programs.
